Who makes Taipei GTA
Taipei GTA — 《臺北狂飆》, or TAIPEI RUSH — is made by one person publishing under the name aicodewithme, not by a studio. This page collects what is verifiable about the project: who makes it, what the shipped build contains, what the developer has said in public, and where to follow the work.
The short version

What the build actually contains
The most useful thing we can tell you is what is inside the files the browser downloads, because that is checkable. The build is a browser game with 46 Taipei location modules and 12 Hong Kong ones, each a real place with a Chinese and an English name — among them 松森書局 (SONGSEN OLD BOOKS) and 牯嶺街小劇場 (GULING ST. AVANT-GARDE THEATRE) in the book-street area, and 國立歷史博物館 (NATIONAL MUSEUM OF HISTORY) in the Nanhai district. The city guide lists the ones we have confirmed and names the chunks they came from.
Beyond the map, the build ships weather that cycles through clear, cloudy, rain, storm and fog; a police system with its own pursuit dialogue; metro travel between districts; an in-game phone; and a story told in chapters. It is asset-light on purpose: buildings, crowds and textures are generated in Web Workers at load time rather than downloaded as models, which is why a world this size arrives as a browser page rather than a multi-gigabyte install.
What the developer has said in public
The project is documented mostly in the developer's own Threads posts, which is unusual and worth knowing about: there is no press kit and no official roadmap page, so the posts are the announcement channel. On 28 September 2026 the developer introduced the game as a Taipei-set open-world project, said it had already cost more than 10,000 US dollars in AI tokens to build, and described it as a finished thing you can play for free rather than a demo — while recommending a computer over a phone for image quality.
Since then the posts have been a build log: bug reports being fixed, the police cars updated, the map expanding, and New Taipei announced as the next area. The updates page keeps that timeline in order, with the date of each post and what it changed.
The developer has also described the ambition behind it: to build an open world of Taiwan itself, starting in Taipei and moving outward to New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung and Kaohsiung. Treat that as a stated intention rather than a schedule — the only confirmed cities in the build we reviewed are Taipei and Hong Kong.
How to follow the project
The developer posts on Threads as @aicodewithme, and that account is also linked from inside the game's own files, which makes it the one channel we can independently tie to the project. If you want to know when a new district lands, that is where it will be announced first.
Every public post we could date, newest first, with what it changed.
Credits, rights and how to treat this site
The game — its code, art, characters, story and name — belongs to its author. This site is a guide that embeds the playable build from the developer's own address and documents how to play it; it does not host, mirror or redistribute the game, and it does not claim any rights over it. Where you see a screenshot or an illustration on this site that was drawn by us, it is original artwork in the game's colour palette, not a copy of the game's assets.
If you are the developer and something here is wrong, or you would like a page changed or removed, write to the address on the contact page — corrections are welcome and made quickly.
Frequently asked questions
Who made Taipei GTA?
An individual developer publishing as aicodewithme. The name appears in the game's shipped files and on the project's Threads account; there is no studio or publisher attached to it that we could verify.
Is this the developer's official website?
No. This is an independent guide. The game is served from its own address, and the developer's public channel is the Threads account linked above.
How much did the game cost to make?
The developer said publicly, on 28 September 2026, that it had cost more than 10,000 US dollars in AI tokens. That is their own figure for tooling costs, not a price for players — the game is free to play in a browser.
Will more cities be added?
The developer has said the plan is to expand outward from Taipei, naming New Taipei first and Taoyuan, Taichung and Kaohsiung as later intentions. As of the build we reviewed, only Taipei and Hong Kong are present, so treat further cities as announced rather than available.
